Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman on Thursday represented Croatia at an international aid conference in Paris, organized by French President Emmanuel Macron with the aim of structuring international humanitarian aid for Gaza civilians.

Addressing the conference, Grlić Radman underscored Croatia’s strong support for Israel’s right to self-defense and condemned Hamas’ brutal terrorist attack, calling for the unconditional release of hostages as well as the need to protect civilians in line with international humanitarian law. He recalled that the Croatian government had already donated €250,000 in emergency humanitarian aid for Gaza civilians, with an additional €1 million allocated at today’s session. The minister emphasized the necessity to ensure humanitarian corridors and humanitarian pauses.

In addition, Grlić Radman said that Croatia was ready to join initiatives such as the one launched by Cyprus to establish a maritime corridor. The minister also highlighted Croatia’s efforts to aid Egypt and Jordan that are suffering direct consequences of the conflict.

The conference brought together key actors involved in humanitarian activities in Gaza, including representatives of the EU member states, EU institutions, regional organizations, UN agencies, the Palestinian Authority and numerous NGOs.
