After the success of the Croatie, la voice fest, organized 2012 in France, the two countries’ fruitful cooperation continues with the French Rendez-vous fest in Croatia, to be held from May to June 2015. Croatie, la voice made it possible for France to greet the 28^th EU member, while Rendez-vous will be the first cultural season of an EU member in Croatia.

The first meeting of the Rendez-vous mixed organizational committee was held 12 and 13 June 2014 at the Ministry of Culture in Zagreb. In the following weeks, a letter of intent is to be signed by the two countries’ ministries of culture and foreign affairs, marking the formal start of an event launched by the two countries’ presidents, François Hollande and Ivo Josipović, and confirmed at a ministerial meeting.

The selectors tasked with running the festival, co-organized by France and Croatia, are Anne Coutard and Alemka Lisinski, chosen by the two countries’ ministries of culture and foreign affairs.

The two selectors are to propose and coordinate cultural as well as inter-disciplinary programme (education, economy, scientific and academic cooperation, sports, tourism and other areas of life), aimed at portraying France to the Croatian public in a realistic light and well as strengthening the ties of respect, friendship and cooperation.

Coordinated by Coutard and Lisinski, Rendez-vous is conducted by the French Institute and the Croatian Ministry of Culture. The French Institute is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development charged with cultural activities abroad.

The next meeting of the mixed organizational committee is scheduled for October 2014 in Paris.
