Croatia, China hold political consultations

State Secretary for Political Affairs Frano Matušić 19-22 April 2023 was on a visit to China, where he held political consultations with Deputy Foreign Minister Deng Li.
 
The officials discussed boosting bilateral cooperation in the fields of policy, economy, trade, investment, culture, tourism, sports, science, and education. They also discussed cooperation within multilateral organizations, as well as the EU-China relations and China-CEEC cooperation. Views were exchanged on regional and international topics, including Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the situation in Southeast Europe.
 
Matušić visited the International Liaison Department of the CCP, where he held talks with its head, Liu Jianchao, on bilateral and international matters. The state secretary held separate talks with the Vice-Minister of the General Administration of Customs, Wang Lingjun, on ways to boost Croatia’s exports to China, notably of agricultural products.
 
In addition, Matušić toured the Beijing office of Infobip, a Croatian company, the Centre for China and Globalization, as well as the EU Delegation. He also met with the Croatian community in Beijing.
