Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina 12 June in Zagreb initialled the Treaty on Border Crossings and the Agreement on Cross-Border Traffic

Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina 12 June in Zagreb initialled the Treaty on Border Crossings and the Agreement on Cross-Border Traffic.

At the final meeting that preceded the initialling, Croatian delegation led by Assistant Minister Andreja Metelko-Zgombić and BiH delegation led by Head of Integrated Border Management Commission Miro Džakula defined the content of the new treaties adapted to the EU legislature.

These treaties, harmonized with the standards and regulations regarding the crossing of persons and goods over the outer border of the Republic of Croatia, will replace the existing ones that are in force until Croatia enters the EU. The new treaties plan to set up a new and comprehensive regime of various category border crossings involving all of the competent services for persons and goods control to border crossings for cross-border traffic regulated by the new cross-border traffic agreement.

The texts of the treaties were initialled by Metelko-Zgombić and all of the BiH delegation members. The signing of the treaties is scheduled for next week at the meeting in Brussels
