Consultations were held at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Zagreb, 19 May 2004, between consular departments of Croatian and Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Lithuania thereby became, after Slovenia, Hungary, Italy and San Marino, the fifth country signatory of the Schengen Agreement with which such mutual border crossing regime has been set up.
During his stay in Croatia, Director of the Consular Department at the Lithuanian MFA Vaidotas Verba was also present at the ceremonial opening of the Lithuanian Honorary Consulate in Zagreb.
