First Deputy prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić is attending an OSCE ministerial conference, held 4-5 December in Basel. The conference began with a working dinner 2 December, which discussed the OSCE’s role in resolving the Ukrainian crisis.

After the opening ceremony, a plenary session on “Addressing the Crisis od European Security, the Way Forward” is to follow, at which Pusić will be one of the speakers. Together with her counterparts from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia, Pusić will sign an amendment to the Agreement on Sub-Regional Arms Control (Ownership Ceremony Dayton Article IV, Annex 1-B).

The agreement is an example of how post-war mistrust can be overcome, and these experiences can be transferred to other countries and regions going through post-conflict periods. The agreement is also successful in that it reduces armament and contributes to building security, stability, transparency and trust in the region.
