At its 26th session held in Strasbourg, the Council of Europe's Bioethics Committee re-elected to another 1-year mandate its current president, Croatian representative Dubravka Šimonović
Bioethics Committee of the Council of Europe establishes European standards in the field of human rights and bioethics, such as the Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine, and Protocol to Ban Human Cloning. At this session, the Committee adopted the recommendation on dignity and human rights of persons with mental disorders. The session ends tomorrow, 19 March 2004.
