Assistant Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Nebojša Koharović 15 May held political consultations on the European policy of Eastern Partnership with the Special Envoy for Eastern Partnership from the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Petr Mareš.
The two officials discussed the progress of the Eastern Partnership in their negotiations with the EU. In light of Croatia’s upcoming membership, the talks focused on the possibility of cooperation between Croatia and the Czech Republic in this area. As Eastern Partnership is one of the Czech Republic’s foreign policy priorities, the meeting was a chance to share its experiences with this part of Europe. Croatia supports the Czech Republic’s efforts to stabilize Eastern Europe and strengthen the active engagement of the Eastern Partnership countries. The two officials also discussed the pending EU Summit on Eastern Partnership in Vilnius.
Mareš held separate talks with Assistant Minister for European Affairs Hrvoje Marušić and Head of the CFSP and CSDP Department Ines Troha Brdar.
