Assistant Minister Gustović Ercegovac participated in ministerial conference EU-Africa-Middle East Energy in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt

Assistant Minister at the Directorate for International Economic Cooperation Andrea Gustović Ercegovac participated on 1 November 2007 in the ministerial conference entitled EU-Africa-Middle East Energy, held in Sharm el Sheikh, the Arab Republic of Egypt

The conference discussed reliable and sustainable energy supply, potential alternative form of energy, and further possibilities of the existing regional and bilateral energy initiatives, for the purposes of developing a regional co-operation in energy safety between the EU, Middle East, and Africa.

Assistant Minister Gustović Ercegovac participated in the conference on the behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, and on an invitation by European Commissioner for External Relations Benita Ferrero-Waldner and Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Ali Aboul Gheit. Participating in the conference on behalf of the European Commission was Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs, other high EU representatives, and officials from a number of European and African countries.

During her stay in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Assistant Minister Gustović Ercegovac met with the Assistant Minister for Economic Relations and International Co-operation at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, El-Sayed Ramzi Ezz el-Dein Ramzi, and held a series of meeting with the representatives of the Egyptian state bodies for economy.
