Assistant Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Batistić Kos attended a meeting of high-level officials of the OECD Development Assistance Committee, held 7 and 8 October in Paris

Assistant Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Batistić Kos attended a meeting of high-level officials of the OECD Development Assistance Committee, held 7 and 8 October in Paris. Participating in the meeting were all general development directors of the DAC member states, as well as representatives of Colombia, China, Russia and India as observers. This was the first time Croatia participated in a meeting of high-level officials of the OECD Development Assistance Committee since it took on a donor role in January 2011.

The meeting discussed ways to ensure more funds for development cooperation, forming new measures of the Total Official Support for Development (TOSD), better presentation of market instruments within official development assistance and greater balance in allocating foreign financing to the countries who need it the most. These points will form the basis for a joint statement to be adopted at the high-level OECD DAC meeting in December as well as serve to draft positions ahead of the International Conference on Financing for Development in July 2015.
