On April 7, 2025, in Brasília, an authorized Commission of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, together with authorized representatives of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of North Macedonia, signed an Annex to the Record of Handover, by which the property and the associated land in Brasília were formally taken over. The Republic of Croatia acquired this property and land based on the Resolutions of the Joint Committee for the Succession of Diplomatic and Consular Property of the former SFRY, from its 19th meeting (Belgrade, July 2-3, 2019) and 20th meeting (Sarajevo, September 13-14, 2021).

The four successor states divided the former diplomatic complex in such a way that the Republic of Serbia received the residence building, Bosnia and Herzegovina the service staff house, and the embassy building was divided into two functional units between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Croatia. The portion allocated to the Republic of Croatia includes 5,472.17 m² of land and 1,277 m² of built-up area.

Following the signing of the Annex to the Record of Handover of the property in Brasília, the successor states involved in the division agreed to jointly carry out the parcelling of the former diplomatic complex so that each state would be registered as the owner of its respective share. In parallel with the parcelling process, the Republic of Croatia will undertake the necessary activities to propose the most rational model for putting the acquired property into functional use for the needs of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Brasília.
