Ambassador Heina handed credentials to Island’s President Olafur Ragnar

Croatian Ambassador to the Republic of Island seated in Copenhagen Aleksandar Heina handed 16 June 2006 the originals of his credentials to Island’s President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, officially assuming the duty of the Croatian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Island

Ambassador Heina relayed the greetings by Croatian President Stjepan Mesić and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, inviting President Grimsson on behalf of the former to officially visit the Republic of Croatia.

Ambassador Heina thanked President Grimsson for Island’s support to Croatia’s efforts in realising a full NATO membership. Both sides expressed a wish for a further strengthening and enhancement of the friendly relations between the two countries.
