In the light of a constantly and significantly increasing number of Japanese tourists in the Republic of Croatia (164 000 in 2009; 14% growth compared to 2008), it was agreed to start negotiations about the possibility to establish direct flights between two countries after the signature of the Air Transport Treaty.

Ambassador Štambuk talked with Deputy Minister Ohkuchi about the programme for privatisation of Croatian shipyards, handed him the tender documentation and informed him about the history and potentials of the Croatian shipbuilding industry. Deputy Minister Ohkuchi said that he will present the programme for the privatisation of Croatian shipyards to the Shipbuilders’ Association of Japan.
