This conference marking Croatian Diplomacy Days was organised by the Croatian Diplomats Association and the Institute for Public Administration

This conference marking Croatian Diplomacy Days was organised by the Croatian Diplomats Association and the Institute for Public Administration, and was attended by former foreign affairs ministers, Croatian diplomats, foreign ambassadors and experts in the fields of international relations and diplomacy.

Minister Vesna Pusić emphasised that over the past two decades, the Croatian diplomats had succeeded in achieving the fundamental foreign policy goals of the Republic of Croatia, from its recognition to its international affirmation. She noted that Croatia today is at the threshold of achieving the diplomatic ambitions since the beginning, to stand on the regional, European and global stage as a country with an articulated foreign policy. In that sense, she concluded that the task of modern diplomacy is to create an image of Croatia that will be recognisable, to articulate the nation's priorities and interests while stressing its comparative advantages and offering its strengths, so that the nation's significance can surpass its size.

Topics of discussion at the conference included the diplomatic profession and its current challenges, Croatia's diplomacy as a part of the European foreign policy service, public diplomacy and communication of the diplomacy with the public.
