After they had discussed the relations between the two countries, State Secretary Plenković informed Ambasador Trooster about the current situation with the accession negotiations, and activities aimed at informing the Croatian public about the European Union in the context of the Communication Strategy.

The Netherlands is one of the most important Croatia's partners when it comes to financial and technical assistance in preparations for the full membership in the European Union. Ambassador Trooster informed State Secretary Plenković about the current projects, and expressed her hope that the close cooperation will be continued.

The parties exchanged their views on the forthcoming meeting of the EU Member States and countries of South East Europe that will take place on 2 June 2010 in Sarajevo.

They also announced the approaching visit of the Director General for European Cooperation of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ian de Jong.
