State Secretary for European Integrations Andrej Plenković, Director General of the Directorate for Europe and North America Aleksandar Heina and Director General of the Directorate for Neighbouring Countries Davor Vidiš discussed the current status of Croatian and Russian relations with the Director of the Fourth European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Aleksandar Alexeyev.

State Secretary Plenković informed the Russian party about the current status of Croatia's accession negotiations for the membership in the European Union, and about the expectations regarding the completion of the negotiations. It was stressed that the Croatian membership in the European Union would be complementary with further development of fine relations with Russia.

In the talks with Director General Heina consideration was given to Russian and Croatian growing cooperation, while the focus of the talks with Director General Vidiš was placed on the current state in the region of South Eastern Europe, in particular on active Croatian policy toward neighbouring countries.

The bilateral relations were rated very good and friendly. The parties expressed their satisfaction over the recent strengthening of Croatian - Russian dialogue on all levels. In this context the visit of the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Croatia Jadranka Kosor to Moscow on 19 June 2010 was also discussed.
