On the occasion of the sinking of the ship KEA owned by the Holy House Shipping Co. from Sweden, which travelled under the Barbados flag, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration wishes to make the following announcement:

The Marine Rescue Centre in Madrid notified yesterday the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to the Kingdom of Spain about the sinking of the mentioned ship 160 nautical miles off the Spanish coast, including that there were two Croatian citizens among 24 crew members.

Both Croatian citizens, the ship captain and the ship electrician, were rescued and are currently situated in the Spanish town of La Coruna.

The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Madrid managed to reach the ship captain yesterday and informed their families and sea agents about it.

The Embassy will continue to be in contact with the two rescued Croatian sailors in order to provide them all the necessary consular or any other kind of assistance within its competence.
