The State Secretary for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Davor Božinović, received the President of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Miloslav Vlček, on Tuesday, 30 March 201

State Secretary Božinović welcomed the continuation of very good, friendly relations between the two countries, without any open issues, and the fact that their diplomacies and governments cooperated more successfully every day. He especially emphasised the increase in cooperation between the Parliaments in the light of the strengthened role and authorities of national parliaments within the European Union, and he asked for support from the Czechs in relation to the future ratification of the Croatia’s Treaty of Accession. State Secretary Božinović also informed his collocutor about the reforms undertaken by the Government of the Republic of Croatia in the final stage of negotiations with the European Union.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Vlček, confirmed that the Czech Republic fully supported all Croatia’s efforts on its path towards full membership of the European Union. He especially emphasised the will of the Czech side to share their experiences with Croatia, both in the final stage of negotiations and the process of alignment of legislation, and after the accession to the Union. He expressed his conviction that the two countries will, due to their similarities, continue with their close cooperation even within the European Union.
