In his speech at the plenary session of the Ministerial Conference of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, held 27 May 2008 in Zagreb, Serbian Foreign Minister Jeremić gave unacceptable statements about the historical events during the Greater-Serbian aggression on Croatia and expressed dissatisfaction with Croatia’s recognition of Kosovo.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković, as the Conference’s Chairman, rejected said statements, emphasizing that Croatia holds different positions and that the Conference is no place for such and similar issues.

During the bilateral meeting held with Minister Jeremić after the Conference, Minister Jandroković expressed strong protest over the stated opinions, reiterating Croatia’s well-know position about the Greater-Serbian aggression on Croatia and the reasons for recognizing Kosovo. He expressed hope that such acts by Serbian representatives would not harm the high level of co-operation among the AII members.
