Minister Grabar-Kitarović met with Moldovan Prime Minister Tarlev; Moldovan Minister of Culture and Tourism Cozma and Croatian Minister of Sea, Tourism, Transport, and Development Kalmeta signed Agreement on Co-operation in Tourism

Minister Grabar-Kitarović and Prime Minister Tarlev agreed that the bilateral relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Moldova are very good, with no open issues, and expressed their conviction in the continuation of the friendship and further strengthening of the relations between the two countries.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović and Prime Minister Tarlev took the opportunity to talk about the European integration process. Minister Grabar-Kitarović said that Croatia supports Moldova in its Euro-integration processes, both as regards the EU and its role within CEFTA. She offered the Moldovan side Croatia’s experiences in the process of EU accession and, in that regard, extended an invitation to a group of Moldovan diplomats for the transfer of Croatia’s experiences, which Prime Minister Tarlev gladly accepted. He thanked for the support Croatia is offering Moldova in its efforts to join the European integration.

The two also discussed the possibilities of further co-operation in the field of economy, confirming the importance of intensifying the relations between the Croatian and Moldovan businessmen through economic forums.

After the meeting between Minister Grabar-Kitarović and Prime Minister Tarlev, Croatian Minister of Sea, Tourism, Transport, and Development Božidar Kalmeta and Moldovan Minister of Culture and Tourism Arthur Cozma signed at the Croatian Ministry of Sea, Tourism, Transport, and Development the Agreement on the Co-operation between the Croatian Government and Moldovan Government in Tourism. This is the second interstate agreement signed during Prime Minister Tarlev’s visit to Croatia. The first day of his visit, 23 October 2006, Croatian Minister of Culture Božo Biškupić and Moldovan Minister of Culture and Tourism Arthur Cozma signed the Agreement on the Cultural Co-operation between the Croatian Government and Moldovan Government.
