Minister Grabar-Kitarović received on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 the delegation of deputies of the CSU (Christian-Social Union of Bavaria) to the Federal Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany leaded by the president of the Goverment of the Free State of Bavaria, Dr. Edmund Stoiber and by the president of the Provincial group of the CSU, Dr. Peter Ramsauer

Minister Grabar-Kitarović briefed the German delegation about the actualities in the process of accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union and gave an insight in the course of screening of the coordination of legislation and fulfillment of the criteria for the full membership in the European Union. Minister Grabar-Kitarović repeated once more that the Republic of Croatia traditionally has very good and friendly relationships with the Federal Republic of Germany, especially with Bavaria, without any open issues and she proved it with numerous bilateral agreements and acts that were signed between the Republic of Croatia and the Federal Republic of Germany.

The German delegation expressed strong belief in the continuation of transmission of their knowledge and experience in different aspects of cooperation between two countries, especially emphasizing the continuity of support given by the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Croatia in the realization of two top-priority aims of the Croatian foreign policy – full membership in the European Union and membership in the NATO pact.
