Ekrem Cauševic In Aix-en-Provence (France) in September 1971, an international body for Pre-Ottoman and Ottoman studies was founded (Le Comité International d'Etudes Pré-Ottomanes et Ottomanes (CIEPO)), whose board of management, in cooperation with the host country, organises an international scientific congress every other year. The 18th CIEPO will be held in Croatia from 25 to 30 August 2008, at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Zagreb, which is hosting the conference.
