Special session of the UN Security Council regarding the recent escalation of conflict in the Gaza Strip

Chaired by the Permanent Croatian representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Neven Jurica, a special session of the Security Council was held regarding the recent escalation of conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Chaired by the permanent Croatian representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Neven Jurica, a special session of the Security Council was held last night regarding the recent escalation of conflict in the Gaza Strip. On that occasion, a statement was adopted, in which the Security Council members express their grave concern over the situation escalation in Gaza and call for an immediate ceasing of all hostility. The Security Council members call on all sides to stop their military activities and respond to the pressing humanitarian needs in Gaza. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia expresses its concern over the continuation of violence in south Israel and the recent conflict escalation in the Gaza Strip, especially concerning the large number of civilian causalities. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration considers that the Palestinian and Israeli side should cease all combat activities and find a peaceful solution to ensure a lasting peace.
