Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandrokovic awarded on Friday, 10 July 2009, within the framework of “Croatia Summit 2009” in Dubrovnik, the medal of the “Order of Prince Trpimir with necklace and Danica” to NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy Martin Erdmann for his exceptional contribution to the strengthening of international position of the Republic of Croatia and promotion of co-operation between NATO and the Republic of Croatia.

Minister Jandrokovic pointed out that with this medal the Republic of Croatia was first and foremost expressing its gratitude to Assistant Secretary General Erdmann for his personal engagement and commitment which significantly contributed to successful fulfilment of Croatia's aspirations for NATO membership.
Ambassador Martin Erdmann was appointed NATO Assistant Secretary General in 2005, following a successful career in the diplomatic service of the Federal Republic of Germany, and since then he has firmly supported the efforts of the Republic of Croatia to become a member of NATO.
