The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration received notification that the Parliament of the Hellenic Republic has ratified the Protocol on NATO Enlargement to the Republic of Croatia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration received notification that the Parliament of the Hellenic Republic has ratified the Protocol on NATO Enlargement to the Republic of Croatia. Welcoming the decision, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration would like to point out that this completes the ratification process in all of the 26 NATO members. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration expects that the parliamentary debate on the already ratified Protocol in Slovenia's Parliament would also be over soon. So far, 12 NATO members have completed the process of depositing the national ratification instruments at the depository for the North Atlantic Treaty – the U. S. State Department. Depositing the ratification instruments at the State Department completes the ratification of the Protocol on NATO Enlargement to the Republic of Croatia. When all of the 26 members deposit their national ratification instruments, the NATO secretary general will invite the Republic of Croatia to join NATO. After that, the Croatian Parliament is to ratify the North Atlantic Treaty and deposit it at the State Department. By doing that, the Republic of Croatia formally becomes a full-fledged NATO member.
