National Day of the Republic of Croatia celebrated in Athens

The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia marked the National Day of the Republic of Croatia with the reception at the Hotel "St. George Lycabettus " in Athens which gathered around 140 guests: Croatian citizens who live and work in Greece, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other ministries, representatives of the Greek Parliament and the diplomatic corps, as well as prominent individuals from the economic and cultural life of Athens. Ambassador Ivan Velimir Starcevic used this occasion to remind about the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He noted the results achieved in bilateral relations in that period and expressed his conviction that positive trend in mutual relationship will continue. Ambassador also recalled the activities and results of the Croatian Embassy during his post in Greece, and recalled positive experiences during the time he spent in the country and thanked everyone he worked with successfully. Before arriving in Athens, the Ambassador visited Souda Harbor on Greek island of Crete on June 25 where he met with the crew of the Croatian naval vessel “Vukovar”. The ship participates in the military exercise "Adrion Cax & Livex 2017", involving military ships from Italy, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania and Montenegro, which is held annually starting from 2006.
