On the occasion of the takeover of the Presidency of the Republic of Croatia of the of the European Union Council, on February 28 2020 Ambassador Refik Šabanović organized a reception for EU Ambassadors and their spouses and several other Ambassadors (USA, Swiss Federation, Northern Macedonia, Canada, Turkey and Serbia) at his residence. At the beginning of the reception, Ambassador Šabanović presented the six-month Program of the Presidency of the Council of the EU with an emphasis on four pillars: 1) A Europe that develops, 2) A Europe that connects, 3) A Europe that protects and 4) An influential Europe. During the dinner, guests were served authentic Croatian products from donations (wines and cheeses) and traditional Croatian dishes and desserts personally prepared by the ambassador's wife, Mrs. Božena Šabanović.
