Ambassador Refik Šabanović participated at the annual EUROBAK conference, held on February 20, 2020 in Almaty. The Conference was co-organized with the EU Delegation. Main topic of discussion was cooperation between European and Kazakh companies and the possibilities of improvements in that field. The EU ambassador Carlsson emphasised that the EU delegation supports EUROBAK, adding that the biggest challenge ahead is to implement EPCA (EU-Kazakhstan Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement), in force from March 1, 2020. The planned 12th WTO Ministerial Conference in Nur-Sultan was discussed too. During the conference, a new EUROBAK Board of Directors was elected. Before and after the conference, Ambassador Šabanović held several meetings, namely with representatives of Croatian companies “Belupo”and “Podravka” and with Kazakh entrepreneurs, including the Chief Financial Officer of Air Astana, Mr. Ibrahim Canliel, with whom he discussed the possibility of establishing charter flights Kazakhstan - Croatia. Ambassador Šabanović was accompanied by the Croatian Honorary Consul in Almaty, Yerkin D. Israilov.
