Ambassador Refik Šabanović on the official visit to Aktobe

On November 18 and 19, 2019, Ambassador Refik Šabanović visited the Aktobe region in northwestern Kazakhstan where he met with the County Prefect, Ondasyn Urazalin, Aktobe Mayor, Mavr Abdullin and their associates. During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of improving cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and the Aktobe region, especially in the oil and gas sector, recycling of waste materials, agriculture, milk processing and dairy products. The Ambassador informed those present about the possibilities of investing in Croatia, and especially in the tourism sector. He promised to send additional materials about the Croatian companies Tehnix, IMG, Inpiria, Frassinox and Hittner. During the visit, the Ambassador also met with four vice-rectors and the deputy head of the Military Aviation Institute in Aktobe. Each of the vice-rectors presented their universities, and expressed interest in the possibilities of cooperation with Croatian universities, especially with medical ones. Ambassador Šabanović visited the industrial zone and the „ARBZ “railway factory, which recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Croatian company Ovan j. d.o.o. On the second day of the visit, there was a tour of the plantation that annually produces about 100 thousand tons of strawberries. After visiting the regional museum, Mayor Abdullinov offered a lunch for the Ambassador and Honorary Consul Arynkazy Berkinbayev, who accompanied him throughout the visit.
