On December 1, 2019, the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Kazakhstan represented Croatia for the first time at the traditional Christmas Bazaar, held in Nur-Sultan at the end of each calendar year. The Bazaar was attended by 53 Embassies and 14 international and other organizations, and over 36 million KZT were raised for charity. As part of the Bazaar activities, lottery tickets were drawn, and on the eve of the opening, at a special event, each Embassy donated a gift basket with traditional products/items. Croatia made a significant contribution to this humanitarian action, especially through the great personal commitment of the Ambassador's wife, Mrs. Božena Šabanović, who volunteered in the Organizing committee and together with other Embassy staff prepared twelve types of traditional Croatian Christmas cookies. On the day of the Bazaar and throughout the preparations, all employees of the Embassy, together with their spouses, participated in the organization and in sales at the Croatian stand, where in addition to cookies, there were also products from the donation of the Croatian company “Podravka”.
