Visit of Mufti Aziz ef. Hasanović and delegation to the Republic of Indonesia (Jakarta, 18th-21st November, 2024)

The four-day visit of Mufti Aziz ef. Hasanović and delegation to Indonesia included a series of meetings with religious and state leaders in Jakarta. Ef. Hasanović held meetings with Dr. Nasaruddin Umar, Minister of Religious Affairs and Grand Imam of the largest Indonesian mosque Istiqlal, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Anis Matta, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Muhammad Syafii, and the leaders of the most important Islamic institutions in Indonesia: Nahdlatul Ulama, Muhammadiyah, the Council of Indonesian Mosques and the Council of Indonesian Ulema. The work and activities of the Islamic Community in Croatia, possibilities for cooperation and strengthening the halal industry were presented. Special emphasis was placed on interfaith dialogue, especially after Pope Francis' visit to Indonesia, which brought a very positive response to interfaith dialogue. At the reception organized by the Croatian Embassy in Jakarta, which was attended by approximately 50 members of the Diplomatic Corps, the President of the Senate Mr. Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin greeted the guests. Along with Mufti Hasanović, the delegation included Dr. Mirza Šabić, a member of the Mešihat, Muhamed Mandžić from the Center for Halal Quality Certification, and Senad ef. Hevešević, M.Sc., the Grand Imam of the Muslim Community in Osijek.
