The Philippines hosted the International Conference on Women, Peace, and Security on 28 - 30 October 2024 in Manila with the theme,
“Forging Collaboration and Convergence for Advancing Women, Peace, and Security”. The conference served as an international stocktaking on the implementation of the women, peace, and security (WPS) agenda ahead of the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (UNSCR 1325). During a high-level panel discussion, representatives from Algeria, Namibia, Indonesia, Poland, Latvia, Mali, UAE, the Philippines, the UK, and Libya emphasized actionable strategies for the effective implementation of WPS frameworks and national policies, and allocation of resources to support women’s leadership in peacebuilding and security initiatives. On behalf of the Republic of Croatia, Ambassador Mr. Nebojša Koharović delivered a speech at the plenary session in Manila.
