Kroatien - Dalmatien im Herzen von Bern - Exhibition „Early Croatian Computer Art 1969-1976"

The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Bern is pleased to announce its participation in the Fernweh Festival in Bern with the Embassy's Open Door.

An event Kroatien - Dalmatien im Herzen von Bern will be held on Friday, October 29 from 14:00 to 17:00.

Visitors can get touristic information about the Croatian coastal region of Dalmatia and discover some interesting details about the places in the heart of the city of Bern connected with it. The Bern’s Dalmaziquai and Dalmazibrücke are named after Dalmatia. The Croatian coastal region of Dalmatia is known for its natural beauty, excellent nautical infrastructure, safe harbours and more than 1200 islands, islets and rifts. You can discover these and many other interesting things on Friday.

On Saturday, October 30th from 12:00-15:00 you can visit and see the Exhibition „Early Croatian Computer Art 1969-1976" at the gallery of the Embassy.

The term "computer art" was coined in the 1960-ies for the use of computer for artistic expression.  Such artwork can be on paper as a plotter outprint, a silkscreen or digital print, a photo or video recording from the monitor screen etc. The exhibition displays the work of five artists and engineers, the pioneeres of computer art: Vladimir Bonačić, Vilko Žiljak, Miljenko Horvat, Nikola Šerman and Tomislav Mikulić.
