Agriculture Minister Tolušic in an official visit to Israel

On 8 and 9 May 2018, Minister of Agriculture Tomislav Tolušic, at the invitation of Israeli Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Uri Ariel, paid an official visit to Israel. Along with ministers and officials from around 90 countries, Minister Tolušic participated at the 20th International Agricultural Exhibition and Conference - Agritech, one of the most important gatherings in the field of agriculture, irrigation and innovation. Together with the host, Minister Ariel, Minister Tolušic attended the ministerial panel on the role of irrigation in agricultural production. Roundtables on the family and smallholders farming in climate disadvantaged areas and their share in agricultural production were also held. Minister Tolušic held a bilateral meeting with the Israeli Minister Ariel. Following the conclusion of the bilateral Agreement on Cooperation in the field of Agriculture, in November 2017, and contacts at the expert level, the ministers discussed possibilities for strengthening cooperation in the field of irrigation of agricultural land, innovative agricultural production, as well as the exchange of agricultural and food products. Furthermore, Minister Tolušic had meetings with the most important Israeli and international companies in the field of design and implementation of modern solutions for irrigation of agricultural land, and with the representatives of Israeli company Saro Imports, the first importer of Croatian wines on the Israeli market, and discussed the possibilities for placement of a wider range of Croatian wines in Israel.
