Agriculture Minister Tolušic in a working visit to Israel

From 11-13 September 2017, Minister of Agriculture Tomislav Tolušic was in a working visit to the State of Israel. With ministers and officials from 120 countries, Minister Tolušic participated at the WATEC 2017 (Water Technology and Environmental Control) - the international fair and conference, bringing together experts and companies in the field of irrigation, water supply and drainage as well as those dealing with water treatment systems and environment management. The conference was opened by Israeli Minister of Economy Eli Cohen. During his visit to Israel, Minister Tolušic met with Israeli Minister of Agriculture Uri Ariel. The ministers discussed the cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture and the possibilities for further upgrading and extending the existing cooperation. There is a mutual interest in sharing experiences and cooperation especially in the areas of irrigation of agricultural land and rural development. Furthermore, the Minister and his team visited the Israeli companies with many years of experience in the production and application of the irrigation system, Tahal and Netafim, which have been operating for some years now also in Croatia, and the company ODIS. They visited the Volcano Institute at the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture, which deals with the development and monitoring of agricultural production and water resources management. The WATEC was also attended by the Splitsko-Dalmatinska County Prefect, Blaženko Boban, with representatives of the public institution RERASD, also with the aim of gaining insights into the Israeli water management technologies.
