High potential of co-operation between Norway and Croatia in the aquaculture sector - Croatian shipbuilders at AquaNor 2015 in Trondheim

There is a high potential of co-operation between Norway and Croatia in the maritime sector, especially in fish-farming and shipbuilding, as it was evident from the strong presence of Croatian enterpreneurs at AquaNor 2015 in Trondheim. Croatia was strongly represented by shipbuilders but also providers of equipment and services in the aquaculture sector. According to the participants, the Croatian exhibitors attracted great interest by potential customers and partners. Two very modern fish-farms supply vessels were flagships of the Croatian presence at AquaNor, as the latest deliveries of a series of more than 40 vessels built and equipped in Croatia. This is a direct result of bilateral cooperation between governments of Norway and Croatia, which gave birth to the “iNavis” project (managed by CroNoMar, a joint-venture company) – a show-case of efficient and effective public-private partnership. The successful participation to AquaNor, as well as the good results achieved in the Norwegian market give good ground for optimism for further strenghtening of economic exchange between Norway and Croatia in the maritime sector.
