Traditional Diplomatic Fair was held in the South African capital city of Pretoria, organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Africa. Many countries from all continents were represented by stands with arts and crafts products, tourism information material and foodstuffs. Croatia was well represented, offering delicious home-made sweets, baked by skillful Croatian South African women, biscuits, chocolates and other food products made by Croatian companies “Kraš”, “Podravka” (donated by “Galija-import”, a company which imports Croatian foodstuffs to South Africa) and “Cedevita” and, of course, tourism material. The Croatian stand attracted a lot of visitors and collected a good sum for charity. Music and dance groups from various countries performed at the Fair. Small male a cappella choir “Ova klapa” from Johannesburg was defending Croatian colours. Interestingly, all members of the choir are from Vela Luka, a small town on the southern Croatian island of Korcula. This year Croatia did not succeed in defending its title of the best stand at the Fair, which Indonesia took.
