The King screened on 3rd EUNIC Film Festival in Namibia
From September 10th to 17th, the EUNIC Cluster Namibia presented the 3rd edition of the EUNIC Film Festival under the theme “Celebrating Heroes”. The festival featured 14 movies from 14 EU Member States. On September 11th, the Croatian movie “The King“ (2011, producent: Dejan Acimovic) was screened in Goethe Centre in Windhoek.
EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) is the network of the international cultural relations institutes from the member states of the European Union. Formed in 2006, it has 32 members from 26 countries. The festival"s aim is to improve the visibility of non-resident European embassies and provide them with the opportunity to present their countries and culture to the Namibian people. The EUNIC Film Festival was held in collaboration with the European Union Delegation to Namibia.
EUNIC Cluster Namibia is composed of Alliance française de la Côte, British Council, Diogo Cão Centre, Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre and Goethe Zentrum as well as the Embassy of Finland and the Embassy of Spain. For the 2014 festival, Croatia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland and Sweden were also presented through their diplomatic missions in South Africa.
