On May 24, 2024, the Consulate of the Republic of Croatia in the Republic of Zambia was officially opened in Kitwe. The Consulate will be headed by Honorary Consul Milan Trbović. The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, Ante Cicvarić, accompanied by his wife and Dario Klasić, Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in South Africa; the Mayor of the city of Kitwe Her Worship Ms. Mpasa Mwaya, the Minister of the Copperbelt Province, Honorable Elisha Matambo, as well as numerous representatives of the business community, the media, other honorary consuls from Kitwe and Croats living in Zambia. The guests present did not hide their satisfaction with the opening of the Consulate of the Republic of Croatia. Mr. Trbović has impressive private business experience. His role as Honorary Consul underlines the importance of economic cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Zambia and will certainly contribute to further strengthening of trade ties between the two nations. The opening of the Honorary Consulate represents also an opportunity for cultural and tourism cooperation and overall improvement of ties between Croatia and Zambia.
