EuropeFest 2015 in South Africa - Let"s culture together

A „cultural line-up that is hard to top“ is how the Delegation of the European Union in South Africa described the European cultural month EuropeFest, held in May 2015. The festival started with a performance by the world renowned Alma Chamber Orchestra in Johannesburg. The highlight of the EuropeFest was the European Film Festival (EUFF) in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban. 12 EU Member States participated with recent European releases that had all received awards or accolades including „Ida“, the 2015 Oscar for best foreign language film. The final event was a performance by rising Spanish star Joanna Serrat in Johannesburg at the Bassline in Newtown, as part of celebration concert for Africa Day. EuropeFest was also highlighted in a number of radio interviews on a range of cultural topics. On the Europe Day, 9th May 2015, the Radio Today broadcasted David Batzofin"s Travel&Things… radio travel show about Croatia, presenting its beauty and its culture.
