On the occasion of the Statehood Day and 25 years of the independence of the Republic of Croatia, the Croatian Embassy in Pretoria hosted on 23rd June 2016, at the restaurant Rademeyers in the Moreletakloof Nature Reserve in Pretoria, a reception for the members of the diplomatic corps in the Republic of South Africa, representatives of the South African business, public and political scene and the Croatian community.
25 balloons flew into the air, symbolically marking 25 years of independence of the Republic of Croatia. Ambassador Prelog expressed the need for stronger bilateral economic cooperation, especially in projects of great importance for both countries, such as shipbuilding and blue economy. He also stressed the importance of transferring know-how and cooperation in tourism, education, culture and the protection of natural and cultural heritage. Mr. Fuad Cassim, Senior Adviser to the Minister of Finance of the Republic of South Africa, also stressed the importance of the further strengthening of our economic ties, particularly in the maritime sector.
