Observing Croatian nation holydays, Victory Day and Day of Homeland Gratitude, Honorary Consul of Republic of Croatia in Syrian Arab Republic, representative of Croatian Embassy in Cairo and delegation of Croatian oil company INA – Syria visited on 5th August 2008 Croatian Contingent deployed within the United Nations UNDOF mission on Golan Heights.
Commander of 1st Croatian Contingent within UNDOF, Major Miroslav Vagner, organized a tour for Croatian delegation to all the checkpoints within the area of responsibility of Croatian Contingent, providing details on duties and tasks given to Croatian troops. Croatian officers and soldiers performed exceptionally well, ever since they took over their duty from Slovak Contingent in early June 2008.
UNDOF is United Nations mission entrusted with monitoring of the agreed disengagement of the Israeli and Syrian forces, and monitoring of separation line. Croatian Army contributes with 95 officers and soldiers to the Mission.
