The Croatian – Syrian Business Forum was held in Damascus on March 14, 2010 where the representatives of Croatian and Syrian companies had one-to-one meetings. The Forum, which was opened by the Croatian Minister ?uro Popijac and the Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Abdullah Dardari, attracted over 100 representatives of Syrian and Croatian companies.

The Forum, which was opened by the Croatian Minister ?uro Popijac and the Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Abdullah Dardari, attracted over 100 representatives of Syrian and Croatian companies.
The Forum was chaired by Ms. Dunja Konjevod, the Vice-President of the Croatian Chamber of Economy and by Mr. Ma'amoun D. Ganama, Managing Director of Ganama Company.
Mr. Popijac pointed out that Croatia recognized Syria as a trade and investment partner, and that the future of economic relations between the two countries lay primarily in promoting higher forms of cooperation such as joint ventures and technology and know-how transfers. Mr. Popijac presented Croatia's experience in developing small and medium enterprises and public-private partnerships, adding his belief that business contacts between Croatian and Syrian business people would result in concrete business deals. The Croatian Ambassador to Syria Mr. Dražen Margeta and the Croatian Honorary Consul in Damascus Mr. Khouchaba Nissan participated at the Forum.
