The Croatian Minister of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship ?uro Popijac on a three-day official visit to Syria from 13 to 16 March, 2010, was received by the Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Abdullah Dardari to discuss economic issues.
The Croatian Minster pointed out that there was a lot of room to increase cooperation in trade, energy, tourism and investment sectors. Popijac added that Croatia was interested in participating in infrastructure projects in Syria. Mr. Dardari suggested a number of sectors in which two sides could further enhance their cooperation. Three agreements on bilateral cooperation in the competitiveness, market-competition and public-private partnership sectors were signed during the visit. The official delegation, together with the Croatian Ambassador to Syiria Mr. Dražen Margeta and the Honorary Consul Mr. Khouchaba Nissan, was accompanied by a group of Croatian businessmen who participated at a Joint Business Forum and met with their Syrian counterparts.
