The President of the Republic of Croatia Mr. Stjepan Mesic visited the Sultanate of Oman from December 20 – 22, 2009. The Croatian President was warmly welcomed at the Omani capital Muscat, and the road leading from the President's residence to the Al Alema Palace was decorated with Croatian and Omani flags. After the ceremonial reception at the Palace, an official meeting was held between the two delegations headed by Mr. Stjepan Mesic, President of the Republic of Croatia and H.M Qaboos bin Said al Said, Sultan of the Sultanate of Oman. The Croatian President was accompanied by H.E. Mr. Dražen Margeta, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Sultanate of Oman with the seat in Cairo. Both sides expressed the wish to enhance bilateral economic cooperation in all fields, specialty in the field of tourism, oil and gas exploration and construction. After the meeting of the two delegations, the two Heads of the States held a friendly tete – a – tete meeting.
Later, during the day, President Mesic visited the Ethnographic Museum, and participated in a dinner hosted by H.M. Qaboos bin Said al Said.
