In the continuation of his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandrokovic, accompained by H.E. Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Dražen Margeta, met October 24th 2009 in Muscat with Omani Foreign Minister and Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah. The meeting was attended by Foreign Affairs Secretary-General Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Bu Said and H.E. Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Dražen Margeta.

The collocutors expressed satisfaction with the traditionally friendly bilateral relations between Croatia and Oman, as well as belief that this first official visit by the Croatian minister of foreign affairs and European integration would also contribute to their further overall enhancement. It was concurred that Croatia and Oman share a lot of interest, which can be capitalized upon though strengthening the economic cooperation, currently tied mostly to the oil and gas sectors, as well as the food industry. Therefore, other potentials were pointed out that can contribute to the enhancement of mutual relations.
The collocutors also discussed the possibilities of liberalizing the visa regime, where Minister Jandrokovic reiterated that he had already issued an order that all entrepreneurs visiting Croatia with the intent of business investment speedily be issued a visa at the Croatian diplomatic missions. Furthermore, the visa issue procedure has been simplified for all holders of the so-called Schengen visas.
The meeting also discussed the organization of the visit by Croatian President Stjepan Mesic to Oman at the end of this year, and the preparation of the bilateral agreements to be signed on that occasion. The collocutors also talked about the state of affairs in South Eastern Europe, Croatia's experience in the international peacekeeping missions, and mutual cooperation within multilateral organizations, especially the United Nations.
