H.E. Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in the Syrian Arab Republic seated in Cairo, Mr. Dražen Margeta together with Honorary Consul of the Republic of Croatia in the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Khouchaba Nissan and national commanders of the fourth and fifth contingent of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia participating in the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) mission on the Golan Heights, Major Marijan Madjeric and Lieutenant Colonel Slavko Stojanovic hosted the celebration of the National Day and the Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Croatia in Damascus on June 13 th 2010.

H.E. Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in the Syrian Arab Republic seated in Cairo, Mr. Dražen Margeta together with Honorary Consul of the Republic of Croatia in the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Khouchaba Nissan and national commanders of the fourth and fifth contingent of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia participating in the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) mission on the Golan Heights, Major Marijan Madjeric and Lieutenant Colonel Slavko Stojanovic hosted the celebration of the National Day and the Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Croatia in Damascus on June 13 th 2010. The celebration, supported by the Croatian oil company INA and held in the INA-Club, was attended by large number of the Syrian officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Electricity, Ministry of Culture, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Parliament as well as the Dean of the Damascus University Mr. Al Mala, Director of the Old Damascus Authority, Mr. Al Rez, numerous heads of diplomatic missions, military attaches', UN General Secretary Assistant and UNDOF Commander, Major General Natalio C. Ecarma III, business people and Syrian Capital public life distinguished people. Two Syrian ministers, H.E. Mr. Sofian Alaw, Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources and H.E. Mr. Ahmad Kussay Kayyali, Minister of Electricity, and Deputy Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, H.E. Mr. Hassan Zeinab attended the celebration and discussed with Ambassador Margeta and Honorary Consul Nissan the means of further development of bilateral cooperation between Croatia and Syria in the fields of oil, mineral resources and electricity. Representatives of the Syrian oil and gas companies SPC, GPC and SGC also attended the celebration. The Croatian citizens living and working in Syria with Croatian companies INA, CROSCO, STSi, Geofizika and Koncar attended the reception.
