The Qatari Public Works Authority (Ashghal) opened on September 27, 2010 the last phase of the Industrial Interchange for traffic. Croatia-based Konstruktor Inženjering Company has been carrying out the project. The latest opening gives motorists access to the ground-level roundabout at the interchange from all sides. The Industrial Interchange is part of the Doha Expressway, one of the pilot road projects undertaken by Ashghal. The four-level interchange project consists of a 2.8-km long bridge along the Salwa Road extension with an underpass and a three-lane dual carriageway connecting the Industrial Area with Furousiyya Street and an overbridge from Doha towards the Industrial Area with a one-way two-lane traffic.
