On the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Croatia, on June 25, 2006 the reception in Cairo Marriott Hotel for the members of the Egyptian government, media, cultural, scientific, economical and public life in Egypt and the members of the diplomatic corps was held.
Most of the ambassadors in Cairo, representatives of few Egyptian Ministries, cultural institutions, distinguished members of cultural and scientific life; media and Croatians living in Egypt attended the reception. Approximately 300 invitees attended the reception.

Among the others, the reception was attended by Head of Fine Arts Sector of the Ministry of Culture, Mr. Mohsen Shaalan, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affaires for Consular Affaires H.E. Ambassador El Sayed Al Tantawy, Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affaires for North America, Mr. Mohamed Amin Abou El Dahab, Director of the Central Europe and Baltic States Department, Head of Southern Europe and Balkan Department Mr. Ayman Mousharafa, President of the Egyptian-European Council, Ambassador Ihab Sorour, representative of the Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Among many congratulations from different Egyptian high officials and representatives of the diplomatic corps, distinguished are the congratulations together with the flowers received from minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit. Deputy chief of Protocol of the Office of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Mr. Ahmed El Nasary visited H.E. Mr. Dražen Margeta to convey congratulations of H.E. President of the Arab Republic of Egypt to H.E. Ambassador Mr. Dražen Margeta on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Croatia.
During the Reception the exhibition of the Croatian tourist posters with texts was exhibited and film on Croatia, “ Mediterranean, as it was” was played. Both were accepted among the guests.
On the occasion of the Croatian National Day and fifteen years of the independence of the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Ambassador was interviewed for satellite TV Channel Nile TV. The interview was on the Croatian achievements, bilateral relations between Croatia and Egypt and about the meaning of the national Day in Croatia. On this occasion, the exhibition “ the Croatian Lighthouses” was exhibited in Cairo and in Alexandria. At the exhibition opening and Croatian National Day, Croatian honorary Consul, Mr. Yakout Naggar will organize the reception in Alexandria, July 6, 2006.
