At the invitation of Ambassador Marcus Ederer, Head of EU Delegation in the People's Republic of China, Ambassador Ante Simonić attended the meeting of EU Heads of Mission in Beijing on 13 December 2011. The meeting was attended by the ambassadors of 27 EU missions. Ambassador Ederer welcomed the Croatia accession to the EU, while Ambassador Simonić in his speech highlighted the importance of Croatian accession to the EU, Croatia’s commitment to European values and traditions and gratitude for the recognition of Croatia as a EU partner.

The Embassy of Croatia in Beijing organized the performance of Ivan Herceg and Marko Pogačar poetry on November, 23 at the Cathedra for Croatian Language at the Beijing Foreign Studies University.

World-wide famous Croatian pianist Mr. Maksim Mrvica held very successful concert in Beijing. The Concert was attended by more than two thousand visitors
The members of the Croatian Embassy in Beijing meet with Mr. Mrvica after the concert to congratulate him on his great performance as well to discuss some topics for the next year and potential cooperation in the field of celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of bilateral political relations between the Republic of Croatia and People’s Republic of China.

The donations collected at the Tournament were given to the Shuang He Primary School from the Chinese Autonomous Province of Ning Xia. The Croatian Embassy employees donated a notebooks and school accessories to the Shuang He Primary School. The director of the CRI together with the Croatian Ambassador H.E. Professor Ante Simonić and school master of the Shuang He School participated at the opening ceremony of the Event and handed over collected gifts and donations to the Shuang He School students.

The concert was organized by the Croatian Embassy in Beijing, supported by the Independent Service for Croats Abroad and Culture of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
Mongolian President Tsakhi Elbegdorj heading the high delegation visited Croatia on October, 19, 2011 and met with the Croatian President Ivo Josipović. The members of the Mongolian delegation were parliament deputies Sanjaa Bayar and Dashzeveg Zorigt, Foreign and Trade Minister Gombojav Zandanshatar and Minister for Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Tunjin Badamjunai. The Croatian Ambassador to China, Ante Simonić, was a member of the Croatian Delegation.
19.10.2011. | Press releasesThe High-level Symposium on the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) took place from 7-10 September 2011 in Beijing, China. It was co-organized by the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the UNCSD Secretariat.
The Symposium aimed to facilitate in-depth discussions among government officials, experts and representatives from the UN system and Major Groups on both the objective and the two themes of Rio+20, with a view to formulating concrete proposals as a contribution to preparations for the Conference, to be held in Brazil in 2012.
Marijana Mance Kowalski, Director of the Directorate for International Cooperation and Sustainable Development in the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Physical Planning and Construction, Dražana Halar, Counselor at the Energy and Mining Directorate of the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship and Tania Valerie Raguž, First Secretary at the Croatian Permanent Mission to the UN in New York, accompanied by the Ambassador of Croatia to China, Ante Simonić, attended the Symposium. Tania Valery Raguž moderated the „Addressing new and emerging issues“ panel discussion.
From 28 to 30 August, 2011, Ambassador Ante Simonić visited the Croatian delegation which participated at the Shenzhen Universiade 2011. Croatia was represented by 17 athletes who competed in athletics, gymnastics, sailing, judo, archery, shooting, taekwondo and tennis. Sailor Daniel Mihelić won the gold medal in the Laser Standard category.
The central celebration marking the twentieth anniversary of the Croatian National Day and Armed Forces Day, organized by the Croatian Embassy in Beijing, the Office of Military Attaché at the Embassy in Beijing and with the support of the Croatian MOFA Independent Service for Croats Abroad and Culture was held on 16 June, 2011, in the atrium built in the typical Chinese traditional style and art gallery Guocuiyuan National Treasure Park.
